B. CustomerInformationService (301-2-3), PassengerCountingService (301-2-8), TicketingService (301-2-9), DoorStateService (301-2-15), TicketValidationService (301-2-16)
- VDV 301-3: Netzwerkinfrastruktur
IBIS-IP stands for Integrated On-Board Information System based on the Internet Protocol; devices communicate over an in-vehicle IP network.
IBIS-IP is the successor of the serial IBIS vehicle bus according to VDV publication 300. Its basic concept was developed in the research project IP-KOM-ÖV (Internet Protocol based communication services in public transport), funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
Structure of the series:
- VDV 301-1: system architecture
- VDV 301-2: technical basics, common conventions and base services (DeviceManagementService, SystemManagementService, SystemDocumentationService); the individual services are described in parts 301-2-x, e.g. CustomerInformationService (301-2-3), PassengerCountingService (301-2-8), TicketingService (301-2-9), DoorStateService (301-2-15), TicketValidationService (301-2-16)
- VDV 301-3: network infrastructure
Devices offer their functions as services that are announced in the vehicle network via DNS-SD (DNS-based Service Discovery) and accessed via HTTP; the data structures are published as XML schemas (XSD). From version 2.0 onward the documents are bilingual (German/English); service versions currently go up to V2.4.
